One Woman, So Many Names
Objective: Track down a missing heir with many aliases
Year: 2006
Overview: An attorney asked us to find a decedent called ‘Sandy Weismann.’ The woman appeared to have adopted different names throughout her life and had opened bank accounts in various aliases. Was the decedent the same person? Could we help?
Challenges: One woman - so many names!
Sandy would be tough to track down because she had:
- Changed her name continuously
- Married several times
- Used false birth-dates
When it comes to finding heirs IGS is often faced with difficult challenges like this but where a person has adopted several names it can be tougher still. However, we don’t have an almost 100 % success rate for nothing and we never give up. Take this case for instance. Our researcher worked diligently by combing records, interviewing various people and chasing every single lead.
Results: We established that the various identities are all the same person, Sandy Weismann. The attorney was able to discharge his fiduciary responsibilities and disburse the funds of the estate.
